A very sweet mid-century wedding dress typifying the fitted waist and full skirt of the time. The dress falls to a few inches before the knee. Presumably homemade and obviously with a lot of care, this set is actually a separate, unlined taffeta slip and lace overlay dress. The bateau neckline is embellished with small scallops. The long sleeves come to a point at the wrists and close with 4 tiny buttons. Neat little pleats gather into a basque waistline. The lace dress has a raw edge at the hem and the slip has a deep 3.5″ hand sewn hem. The neckline and wrists are faced with stiff, nude-colored netting. You’ll rustle down the aisle in this lacy 1950s creampuff.
None. Most likely homemade.
